The Cost of the Internship

I want to be as transparent as possible about how your generous, tax-deductible contributions will support my work as an RUF intern. Below is a breakdown of how my internship fund will be allocated:

• Personnel Expenses (65%): $33,587
  This is the largest portion of my budget and covers my salary, employer payroll taxes (FICA), and allowances for necessary expenses like housing and parking in a city with such a high cost of living. This ensures that I can focus on ministry without the worries of financial strain.

• Benefits (5%): $2,752
  This portion covers essential benefits like worker’s compensation, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, and participation in The Rest Initiative, a counseling resource for RUF staff.

• General Administration (12%): $5,921
  This covers the operational costs of RUF, including support from area coordinators, national staff, and the resources needed to sustain the ministry at a high level. These funds ensure that RUF interns like me have the guidance and structure needed to serve effectively.

• Ministry Expenses (18%): $9,211
  This category includes conference fees, development resources, literature, and training expenses. It also covers moving costs to help me relocate to Cambridge, phone and internet for ministry communication, and miscellaneous ministry expenses that arise throughout the year.
